BYD's industrial facility in Changzhou reported January-August production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) valued at more than 10 billion yuan.
BYD Auto Co., Ltd. is the automotive subsidiary of the publicly-listed Chinese multinational manufacturer BYD Company headquartered in Xi'an, Shaanxi province. It is one of the biggest manufacturers of NEVs in China.
BYD’s manufacturing facility in Changzhou, which is located in the Changzhou National High-Tech District (CND), started operation in January this year. Its current products are the Yuan Plus (also known as Atto 3) in the Dynasty Series and the Seal (also known as Atto 4) in the Ocean Series.
From January to August, BYD Changzhou’s production and sales hit 12.47 billion and 11.48 billion yuan. In August alone, the Changzhou plant produced more than 20,000 NEVs, a record high since its inauguration. The annual output value is expected to hit over 60 billion yuan after reaching the maximum production capacity.
BYD Auto’s high degree of vertical integration has also driven the expansion of CND’s NEV industrial cluster, including auto parts suppliers such as Faurecia, Tairich, and Dacheng Precision Machinery.
