The "BYD e-Platform 3.0 Evo and Sea Lion 07EV Technology Experience Co-Creation Camp" recently launched at BYD's Changzhou facility. As the sole global production base for the Sea Lion model, the event showcased 12 innovative technologies associated with the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, emphasizing the impressive capabilities of the Sea Lion 07EV, often referred to as the "All-Round King."
The Sea Lion 07EV, which entered trial production earlier this year, made its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. It is the third model produced at the Changzhou facility, following the Yuan PLUS and Dolphin. This advanced facility integrates cutting-edge processes in stamping, welding, painting, and assembly, alongside key component manufacturing. High levels of automation, integration, and intelligence characterize the production environment, which also features state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies and rigorous quality control systems.
As the first model to incorporate e-Platform 3.0 Evo technology, the Sea Lion 07EV offers significant advantages in safety, efficiency, and charging. Notably, it features a pioneering internal skeletal CTB (cell-to-body) safety structure, which enhances both vehicle and cabin safety.
In the first eight months of 2023, BYD delivered 1.069 million new energy vehicles from its Ocean Series, capturing over 16% of the domestic market share. By the end of August, the Sea Lion 07EV had achieved cumulative sales of more than 24,000 units within its first three months of release.
Since commencing operations in January 2022, the Changzhou facility has quickly become one of the fastest-growing industrial entities in the city. From January to August, companies linked to BYD in Xinbei district recorded invoiced sales of 74.33 billion yuan, marking a 4.8% year-on-year increase. Fifteen of these enterprises reported net sales growth exceeding 100 million yuan.
