Jintan district’s foreign trade reached 27.29 billion yuan in 2021, with a robust year-on-year increase of 23.9 percent, data from Changzhou Customs showed.
Last year, Jintan saw exports rise 31.7 percent to 21.29 billion yuan, said the customs authority.
Privately owned businesses contributed 19.17 billion yuan to the district's foreign trade, increased by 36.9 percent over the previous year.
Meanwhile, 38 companies’ imports and exports surpassed the 100 million yuan mark in 2021. Among them, Baic Electronics SK (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd., Risen Energy (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., Chenfeng (Jiangsu) Garments Co., Ltd., and other four companies reached over one billion yuan in foreign trade businesses.
The customs authority also noted the increasing exports of solar panels and lithium-ion batteries in the district, hitting 4.96 billion yuan and 3 billion yuan last year, respectively.
