Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a list of the 10th group of new industrialization demonstration bases. Liyang High-Tech District (in the category of equipment manufacturing) is among the 33 selected bases.

In terms of new energy power equipment, Liyang High-Tech District is home to industry leaders such as Jiangsu Contemporary Amperex Technology, Shangshang Cable, Huapeng Transformer, Ankura Smart Transmission Engineering Technology, and Shichuang Energy. Having about 50 enterprises above the designated size, the district’s new energy power equipment industry achieved sales revenue of 85 billion yuan in 2021, accounting for 73 percent of its manufacturing sector. 

Liyang High-Tech District has also established six national-level and 29 provincial-level research and development platforms. In the district, four companies have been recognized as national "little giant" enterprises that specialize in niche sectors, while the enterprises above the designated size own 615 valid invention patents.
