On May 25, Chen Jinhu, secretary of the Changzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, led a delegation to Zurich, Switzerland's largest city, for the 2023 Swiss-Changzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Day. The event was attended by over 130 representatives, including Dr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel, president of the Swiss Centers Foundation and former Swiss ambassador to China, Chen Yun, Chinese consul general to Zurich and for the Principality of Liechtenstein, and local business leaders.
Chen Jinhu welcomed the guests and highlighted Changzhou's focus on becoming an "international star city of smart manufacturing and the pivotal hub in the Yangtze River Delta." He praised the deepening exchange and cooperation between Changzhou and Switzerland in various areas such as industrial investment, research innovation, energy conservation, and education. Chen expressed appreciation for the growing number of Swiss companies choosing Changzhou as their base, making it a leading destination for Swiss enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta. He encouraged further collaboration and more enterprises to invest in Changzhou, promising a top-notch business environment that is market-oriented and globally integrated.
Several Swiss entrepreneurs who have already invested in Changzhou shared their success stories, emphasizing the exceptional business environment and positive outlook for Changzhou's industries. Currently, there are 39 Swiss-invested enterprises in Changzhou, primarily in intelligent manufacturing.
During the event, the Sino-Swiss (Changzhou) International Industrial Innovation Park in the Changzhou National High-Tech District (CND) was introduced. With a planned area of 1.78 million square meters, the park has already attracted 25 industrial projects spanning 300,000 square meters of standard factories. Two significant projects, including Reishauer Group and Felsomat GmbH & Co.KG, were signed to establish manufacturing facilities in Changzhou.
In addition, the Swiss Center Changzhou was inaugurated, symbolizing closer collaboration between CND and Swiss Centers China (SCC). The partnership aims to provide comprehensive support and services to Swiss companies in China, facilitating their investment and growth.
