On October 5, ten locally transmitted cases of Covid-19 (eight in Nanjing, one in Xuzhou, and one in Changzhou) were confirmed and registered in Jiangsu province.

Twelve local (five in Nanjing, four in Xuzhou, and three in Suzhou) and five inbound symptomless cases were newly reported in the province.

Five hospitalized Covid-19 patients were discharged, while six asymptomatic carriers were released from medical observation.

Seventy-six confirmed cases (44 local and 32 inbound) are still undergoing treatment at designated hospitals, while 108 asymptomatic carriers (57 local and 51 inbound) are currently under medical observation in isolation.

As of this update, China's list of virus transmission zones stands at 695 high-risk, 662 medium-risk, and 176 low-risk areas.
