As part of the cooperation program between Jiangsu and Shaanxi provinces on poverty alleviation, the first Baihe Food Festival opened in Changzhou on June 8.
Baihe county of Ankang city in Shaanxi province is an eco-friendly, leisure and vacation destination in southern Shaanxi. In recent years, Baihe has been effectively promoting their agricultural products such as papaya, tea, domestic animals, walnuts and konjac. At the site of the event, relevant personnel from Baihe presented and introduced each of their specialties to Changzhou consumers.
Liu Yong, manager of Baihe Hope Agricultural Products Processing Co., Ltd., introduced that their sweet potato noodles, handmade without any additives, had received many orders from Liyang, Changzhou.
Since 2017, Liyang has been promoting its connection and cooperation with Baihe and Hanyin counties of Ankang. At present, both counties have realized poverty alleviation under the counterpart assistance of Liyang. This year, the sales of Baihe’s specialty products in Changzhou have already exceeded 20 million yuan.
To promote Baihe’s high-quality agricultural products in an all-round way, the Changzhou Bureau of Institutional Affairs has persisted in purchasing raw materials from poverty-stricken areas, providing fresh, eco-friendly and healthy food for government cafeterias and Changzhou citizens.
