On June 30, the Jintan district of Changzhou held a conference to promote the development of the Inter-Lake Innovation Zone, a new development area between West Taihu Lake and Changdang Lake.
Chen Jinhu, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, pointed out at the conference that the Inter-Lake Innovation Zone plays a leading role in driving the implementation of Changzhou’s "532" development strategy, and will surely become a strong engine for Changzhou to create new glory.
As the youngest, most dynamic new urban area in Changzhou with the greatest potential, Jintan must grasp opportunities for the city’s new round of development, with the Inter-Lake Innovation Zone as a "gripper" and "fast-forward button" for future-based improvement, said Chen.
At the meeting, Xu Hui, president of Hohai University, and Sheng Lei, mayor of Changzhou, unveiled the Jintan Hua Luogeng Technology Transfer Center of Hohai University. Jintan District People's Government and Hohai University signed an agreement to strengthen comprehensive cooperation on integrated development. The new Changzhou campus of Hohai University is located on the north side of Changdang Lake, which is estimated to open in fall 2023, with more than 15,000 full-time students.
A total of 25 key projects, including Hua Luogeng Innovation Center and Sino-German High-skilled Personnel Training and Certification Center, were also signed at the conference.
The Jintan area of the Inter-Lake Innovation Zone covers 412.1 square kilometers. Its planning contains a few functional areas for science and technology innovation, green development with water-town features, international high-end manufacturing cooperation, industry-city integration, and ecological conservation. From January to June this year, Jintan has signed 60 industrial projects, with a total investment of 35.659 billion yuan.
City leaders Li Lin, Hang Yong, Di Zhiqiang, Jiang Pengju, and Zhang Chunfu attended the event.
