On November 3rd, Sino-Denmark Cooperation on Pedology Research Centre was unveiled at Changzhou Institute of Technology. Currently, the research centre has over 10 researchers from both China and Denmark. Most of them are professors, doctors and PhD students in the field of preschool education.
Mr. Peter, Vice President of Denmark VIA University College, indicated that besides project research, the centre also planned to cooperate with Changzhou local kindergartens to co-build Denmark style kindergarten.
The undergraduate course of civil engineering department, which is run jointly by Changzhou Institute of Technology and Denmark VIA University College, will enroll students in September next year. The enrollment for every year will not surpass 100 students. This is the second cooperative project during the 10-year cooperation between the two schools.
The undergraduate course of civil engineering major will use the “3+1” mode. For the first three years, the students will study at the School of Civil Engineering of Changzhou Institute of Technology. For the fourth year, the students will study at the School of Economy and Technology of Denmark VIA University College. The students can also choose to still study in China for the fourth year according to their family situation. When they graduate, the students can get double BA degree certificate issued by both Denmark VIA University College and Changzhou Institute of Technology. If the students study in Changzhou Institute of Technology for all four years, they can get BA degree certificate issued by Changzhou Institute of Technology and the course-completion certificate issued by Denmark VIA University College.
Denmark VIA University College is the largest university college in Denmark. In 2009, Changzhou Institute of Technology and VIA University College carried out their first cooperative project, which was “3+1” mode undergraduate course of preschool education major. Now, the major has enrolled nearly 300 students for 6 years.
