On August 14, the online activity of 2020 Grand Canal Cultural Tour for Overseas Chinese Youth officially opened in Changzhou. The event is organized by the United Front Work Department and Publicity Department of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, the Municipal Bureau of Education, and the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism. More than 10,000 overseas Chinese students participated in the activity online.

The Grand Canal Cultural Tour program selected Changzhou’s scenic spots along the Canal and some of the local attractions, displaying both modern and historical parts of the city in an interactive way.

As a co-organizer of the event, Changzhou Technical Institute of of Tourism & Commerce helped design the online routes for visitors to have a virtual experience of the Canal culture in the old city, the Yancheng Ruins known as the the "Oriental Atlantis”, the Tianmu Lake resort with fabulous landscapes, the Tianning Pagoda and Hongmei Park, the historic block of Qingguoxiang and the famous food of Changzhou.
