Chinese National Day is celebrated on October 1st every year to commemorate the founding of People鈥檚 Republic of China. National Day holiday is fixed at October 1鈥�7 with adjacent weekend days being mandatory workdays to make up for the lost time. This period is also called "golden week" during which people will have a week off to reunite with families and take trips.

In 2020, the holiday dates are Oct. 1 to 8, one day longer than normal years because of the Mid-autumn Day falling on Oct. 1 this year. People will be on duty on Oct. 10 (Saturday) and Oct. 11 (Sunday).
