On February 27, the year's inaugural flower event in Changzhou—the 17th Changzhou Plum Blossom Festival—commenced, attracting numerous tourists to indulge in this celebration of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
The festival, a cherished tradition held for 16 consecutive years in Hongmei Park, showcases over 700 plum trees boasting seven prominent varieties, including Gongfen and Zhusha. Their branches adorned with vibrant pink and red blossoms create a picturesque scene, particularly around landmarks like the Red Plum Pavilion.
Throughout the festival, visitors can delight in nearly 20 meticulously planned activities, such as "Entertainment in the Park, Plum Blossoms in Full Bloom," promising an immersive experience for all. This enchanting event will captivate audiences until the latter half of March.
Looking ahead, Changzhou eagerly awaits public input for flower exhibition themes, preparing to host 37 sessions of floral showcases featuring 19 diverse varieties across 26 parks citywide. Introducing a novel approach, joint exhibitions at both municipal and district levels will further enrich the lives of its citizens with vibrant displays of nature's beauty.
