On the morning of October 28, the China Caoshan Future City, which was jointly invested by Sunac China Holdings Ltd. and Chengdu New International Conference & Exhibition Center, laid its foundation stone in Liyang, Changzhou. Wang Quan, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Sun Hongbin, chairman of Sunac China, and Deng Hong, chairman of Chengdu New International Conference & Exhibition Center, together laid the foundation stone for the International Convention and Exhibition Center and Water Town Project of China Caoshan Future City.

In his speech, Wang Quan said that during recent years, the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and the Municipal People’s Government have adhered to inheriting our historical culture and highlighting the characteristics of natural landscapes, striving to build a high-quality star city of tourism. As an important pole of Changzhou's high-quality development, Liyang focuses on building the most beautiful sub-center city of the Nanjing-Hangzhou Eco-economic Belt. In exploration of a practical path of ‘Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,’Liyang has developed a unique way to promote ecological priority and green development. The construction of Caoshan Future City is a major measure for Changzhou to implement the key strategy of regional integration in the Yangtze River Delta, the high-quality development strategy of Jiangsu province and the strategic deployment of a star city of industry, management and tourism.

He hopes that the two companies will cooperate with Changzhou and launch the project with full entrepreneurial passion, firm development confidence, high-standard construction, high-efficiency promotion and high-quality management. At the same time, the governments of Liyang and Changzhou will continue to create a good development environment for investors with more high-quality, convenient and efficient services, in order to become a city with the best investment environment, the highest administrative efficiency, the most standardized management and the greatest rule of law performance.

The China Caoshan Future City is located in Shangxing, Liyang. It contains all kinds of facilities such as international conference center, characteristic water town, theme park and high-end hotel. This project will further promote Liyang's in-depth implementation of the strategy of ‘integrating into Changzhou and connecting with Nanjing,’ which is an important milestone for the long-term development of Liyang. The entire project is divided into three phases, and the first phase will be put into operation within 3-5 years.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, InterContinental Hotels Group signed a contract to settle in the Caoshan Future City.
