On May 5, Zhou Bin, secretary of the CPC Xinbei District Committee, received the delegation headed by Okada Masaru, director of the Consular Department of the Japanese Embassy in China.
Zhou Bin briefed the delegation on the basic information of Changzhou National High-Tech District (CND), including its geographic location, business environment, and cultural background.
Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between China and Japan, while CND will turn into its 30s, said Zhou.
Boosting technological innovation and the region’s workforce, he hoped that more Japanese enterprises will choose CND as their investment destination.
On his first visit to Changzhou, Okada Masaru inspected CND’s Japanese-invested companies and the district’s business environment during the two-day trip. He also had a meeting with the representatives of these enterprises to learn about their work and life in the city.
Japanese investors were among the first to set up companies in CND. Currently, there are over 160 Japanese-invested businesses registered in the district, whose investments amount to nearly 3 billion US dollars.
In February 2021, the China-Japan Intelligent Manufacturing (Changzhou) Industrial Park in CND was recognized as one of Jiangsu’s seven provincial-level parks in cooperation with Japan or South Korea.
