On the afternoon of April 28, Party Secretary Yan Li met with Dr. Jonathan Koon-shum Choi, Chairman of the Hong Kong-based Sunwah Group, and his delegation, exchanging ideas about promoting the program of Jiangsu-Macau Cooperation Park and the matters of China-Israel cooperation.

With corporate headquarters in Hong Kong, Sunwah sits at the centre of the world’s greatest economic opportunity. Today, Sunwah is a highly diversified conglomerate with businesses in seven principal areas: Seafood & Foodstuff, Real Estate, Financial Services, Technology, Infrastructure, Media and Education. Activities extend deep into the mainland as well as to the environs of Japan, Macau, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Singapore and across the oceans to Canada, Europe, the US and Australia.

Dr. Jonathan Choi is also positioned as Deputy Director of Committee for Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports of the National Committee of CPPCC, Member of National Committee, CPPCC, Permanent Honorary President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong, Chairman of the 46th and 47th CGCC Team Board, HK China's Representative, APEC Business Advisory Council, and Honorary Ambassador of Foreign Investment Promotion for the Republic of Korea. Dr. Choi has been awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS), the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) and Justice of the Peace (JP) by the HKSAR Government for his meritorious public and community service, particularly for his contribution to the education field and the promotion of economic ties between Mainland China and Hong Kong. 

Yan Li introduced the economic and social development in Changzhou, and expressed the expectation that Dr. Choi would contribute to exchanges and cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

It is reported that Sunwah will increase investment in Changzhou, planning to cooperate in education, food, health, elderly care, and other fields.
