On December 18, the field visit activity of the 5th Shanghai Archaeology Forum  was held at the Changzhou Museum. Chen Zhiliang, a member of the municipal CPC Party Committee and minister of the publicity department, attended the event.

Established in 2013, the Shanghai Archaeology Forum aims to promote the investigation, protection, and utilization of global archaeological resources and cultural heritage. It serves as an international platform to publicize archaeological achievements, promote archaeological research, and highlight the modern significance of cultural heritage.

The 5th Shanghai Archaeology Forum, which was held at Shanghai University from Friday to Sunday, focused on archaeological studies of climate change and social sustainability. Jointly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Shanghai municipal government, the international archaeology forum has attracted more than 200 scholars from over 40 countries and regions.

At the Changzhou Museum, the participants visited the special exhibition of the Sanxing Village Site. The exhibition, launched in September this year, features over 300 cultural relics, including 67 precious artifacts/sets. It represents the first comprehensive and concentrated display of unearthed cultural relics from the Sanxing Village site, with many artifacts being seen for the first time in China.

鈥淭he excavations at the Sanxing Village site have extraordinary significance.鈥 According to several scholars at the exhibition, 鈥淭hese findings have broadened the perspective on research into the Neolithic era.鈥
