Changzhou's tourism industry saw impressive results during the recent May Day holiday, with over three million visits from tourists and a tourism revenue of approximately 343 million yuan. These figures represent a significant increase of 65.26 percent over the same period in 2019, indicating a strong rebound for the city's tourism sector.
The city's hotels also experienced high demand, with an average occupancy rate of 95 percent. Additionally, cultural facilities such as libraries, museums, and art galleries were popular destinations, attracting over 300,000 visitors during the holiday.
To further enhance the travel experience for both residents and tourists, Changzhou hosted a variety of events that integrated culture and tourism. One notable example was the century-old Xiju opera Pearl Pagoda performed in the garden of Qingguoxiang historic block. These events showcased the city's rich cultural heritage and added to the overall enjoyment of the holiday for visitors.
