The urban population achieved 3.2264 million, accounting for 68.7% of the total resident population.

From a regional perspective, Wujin homes most of the resident population (1.6086 million), and Liyang is ranked second with a resident population of 760,200.

From the situation of Jiangsu Province, Changzhou ranks fourth in urbanization rate following Nanjing (80.92%), Wuxi (74.47%) and Suzhou (73.95%), 3.49 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
