On January 23, the Deputy Secretary of the Changzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC Mr. Zou Hongguo met with a Russian delegation headed by the Director of the Russian Institute of High Molecular Compounds .

Zou extended his welcome to the Russian guests, saying that Changzhou is dedicated to industrial transformation and upgrading and is accelerating its pace at scientific and technological innovation. He also said that new materials and new energy are two strategic industries emerging in Changzhou. He requested the Russian guests to conduct deep investigations here so as to find convergent points of mutual cooperation in future.  

During their stay in Changzhou, the Russian delegation signed a framework agreement on cooperation with Changzhou, held some talks on the cooperation of some scientific and technological programs in relevant areas and reached an intent of cooperation on introducing the most advanced lithium ion membrane technology, as well as on investment of building a membrane production base with annual capacity of 100 million sq m.     

Established in 1948, the Russian Institute of High Molecular Compounds is one of the key institutes affiliated with the Russian Academy of Sciences, whose major research areas include the forming mechanism of chemical polymers modifications and its chemical and physical mechanical properties, polymeric spectroscopy and the research and development of functional new materials applied in the new energy area. Among the more than 70 patents owned by the institute, the lithium ion membrane manufacturing technology is at the world’s most advanced level, which has been put into application in America and Russia.
