According to the Municipal Bureau of Statistics, the operating revenue of Changzhou's industrial enterprises above the designated size reached 1.01472 trillion yuan from January to September 2021, up 28.6 percent year on year.

The machinery industry contributed to more than half of the city’s industrial revenue growth with 505.98 billion yuan in operating revenue during the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 34.8 percent.

In particular, with peak carbon and carbon neutrality goals in place, new energy vehicle and auto parts manufacturing has become a new industrial pillar of the city.

In the first nine months, Changzhou’s 135 manufactures of new energy vehicles and auto parts achieved 90.66 billion yuan in operating revenue, an increase of 89 percent over the same period last year.
