The fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), which concluded in Shanghai on November 10, saw 73.5 billion U.S. dollars worth of tentative deals reached for one-year purchases of goods and services, up 3.9 percent from that of last year. The CIIE attracted many multinational companies, including the global headquarters of a dozen foreign-invested companies in Changzhou.
The Expo is composed of Country Exhibition, Business Exhibition, International Economic Forum and cultural activities. The Business Exhibition consists of six sections: food and agricultural products, automobile, intelligent industry & information technology, consumer goods, medical equipment & healthcare products, and trade in services.
The headquarters of over ten foreign companies in Changzhou, including Saurer Jiangsu Textile Machinery Company, Emag (China) Machinery Company, Mesac Changzhou. Over 3,800 people from Changzhou registered as participants to the CIIE.
During this year’s expo, corporate representatives from Changzhou also took part in the International Economic Forum, and business matchmaking sessions. In the follow-up measures, the Changzhou government will roll out policy briefings, press conferences, trade forums, and signing ceremonies to connect suppliers with purchasers, thus amplifying the positive effect brought by the CIIE.
