Last week, at Jiangsu rural tourism work promotion meeting held in Yancheng, the list of Jiangsu’s first batch of 37 rural tourism innovation projects was released. Three of them are from Changzhou, namely Jintan Maoshan Baopu Park, Changdang Lake Water Street and Liyang Nanshan Garden.

Maoshan Baopu Park enjoys the beautiful scenery of green pines and verdant bamboos. It introduces the health-preserving culture of Maoshan’s Taoism, and regularly holds Taoism health-preserving summer camps and winter camps. Playing Tai Chi and eating vegetarian food has become the choice of many families for family trip. The 64 restaurant boats at the Changdang Lake Water Street are connected to each other by trestles. Every night, when all the lights are on, it becomes special scenery beside the Changdang Lake. The eight lake food feast attracts nearly 1 million person-times of tourists every year. The annual business income surpasses 200 million yuan.

It is learned that Jiangsu’s rural tourism innovation projects released this time were recommended by each municipal tourism bureau and were confirmed by experts after evaluation. The rating is to further promote the sound and sustainable development of rural tourism in Jiangsu, to accelerate the upgrading of personalization, specialization and regionalization of rural tourism products, to create high quality rural tourism products, and to advance the transition of rural tourism from pure sight-seeing to balanced development of both sight-seeing and leisure activity.
