On January 12, Ma Qiulin, vice governor of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, came to Changzhou and visited the city’s leading enterprises involved in the development of the fifth generation of wireless technology (5G), including Schweizer Electronic, Source Photonics, FRD Technology, Renqian Technology, and Taiping Electric Appliance.

Schweizer Electronic (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., invested by Schweizer Electronic AG, is located in Jintan district, Changzhou. The plant is equipped with the latest technologies and is unique in its high level of machine integration and automation. The entire production process fulfills the stringent requirements for a chip embedding company with regard to cleanliness and electrostatic shielding.

Jiangsu Source Photonics Co., Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Source Photonics, Inc., a leading provider of innovative and reliable optical communications technology that enables communications and connectivity in data centers, metro, and access networks. Located in Jintan Economic Development Zone, the plant is the only foreign-funded enterprise with high-speed optical chip research and development capabilities in China, mainly producing optoelectronic semiconductor chips.

Changzhou Renqian Technology Co., Ltd. independently develops ceramic dielectric filter, cavity filter, and other core components for 5G mobile and wireless communication. It is a supplier of domestic telecom giants like China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, and ZTE Corporation.

Ma Qiulin pointed out that Changzhou, as a star city of industry and an advanced manufacturing base, needs to get the city’s 5G enterprises actively involved in China’s "New Infrastructure" projects, which in turn will promote Changzhou’s progress toward a star city of industrial intelligence.
