On December 23, the China-Germany Intelligent Manufacturing Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Forum was held in Changzhou Science and Education Town.

The forum unveiled a joint lab of intelligent manufacturing launched by the Fraunhofer IOSB technology demonstration and transformation base and Changzhou University.

The new lab will promote joint research and development, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and application for hosting projects. It will also facilitate the cooperation among research institutions and colleges in Changzhou and Germany.

Fraunhofer is the largest organismic for applied research in Europe. It conducts research under contract for industry, the service sector and public administration and also offers information and services. Fraunhofer IOSB is one of the over 70 Fraunhofer institutes for applied research in Germany.

Established this year in cooperation with the Science and Education Town, the Fraunhofer IOSB technology demonstration and transformation base will coordinate with Changzhou University to boost student participation in innovation and entrepreneurial activities, as well as organizing award-winning teams to visit Fraunhofer in Germany.

The forum was held during the promotion meeting of the China-Germany Intelligent Manufacturing Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Network, which advocates cooperation between the two countries.
