On December 5, the BEST (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd., located in Jintan Economic Development Zone, was officially put into production. Xu Heyi, chairman of BAIC Motor Group, Wang Yan, chairman of Beijing Electronics Holding, Kim Joon, chief innovation officer of SK Group, Ding Chun, mayor of Changzhou, and Liang Yibo, deputy mayor of Changzhou, as well as over 300 merchants and guests from home and abroad, attended the opening ceremony.

It is learned that BEST (Jiangsu) Technology was jointly established by BAIC, Beijing Electronics Holding and the SK Group of South Korea, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan. The first-phase project, with 5 billion investment, started construction on October 18 last year, which has so far launched two production lines for electrode sheets and four processing and assembly lines. The factory covers an area of 107,000 square meters, dedicated to producing safe and reliable lithium-ion polymer batteries with better performance and higher energy density.

The three parties jointly stated that they will enhance the cooperation based on their respective industrial advantages and start the second phase of the project as soon as possible. After the whole project is completed and put into production, the annual output is expected to exceed 7.5 Gwh.
