On June 29, Changzhou celebrated the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the Administration Center. Qi Jiabin, Secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, attended the event and delivered a speech.

The conference was chaired by Chen Jinhu, deputy secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Changzhou. Bai Yunping, chairwoman of the CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee, and other CPC officials of the city’s leadership attended the event.

On behalf of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Qi Jiabin extended festive greetings to the city’s Party organizations at all levels and all Party members and officials. He pointed out that CPC organizations and members should effectively enhance their sense of political responsibility and historical mission, seize the day and live it to the full, and strengthen Party leadership to provide a strong guarantee for advancing the city’s economic and social development in a new era.

Chen Jinhu urged the city’s Party organizations at all levels and all Party members and officials to enhance their ability to lead politically, guide through theory, organize the people and inspire society. He called on CPC organizations and members to bear in mind the supremacy of the people's interests, always rely on the people closely, benefit the people continuously and be firmly rooted in the people. Efforts should be made to promote livelihood in the course of closing in on the goal of achieving a moderately prosperous society in all respects this year.

On the eve of July 1, Chen Cong, deputy director of the Infectious Disease Emergency Response Institute of Changzhou CDC, was awarded the title of "Outstanding CPC Member of the Province". At the conference, Cai Jun, deputy secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the Committee of Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Changzhou Committee, announced the decision on commending the outstanding CPC members of Changzhou dedicated to the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
