On May 11, Changzhou held an expanded meeting of the United Front Work and Coordination Mechanism Involving the Private Sector at the Municipal Administration Center. The meeting, chaired by Yang Fen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and director of the United Front Work Department, focused on advancing the "Dual Health" initiative, aimed at promoting the healthy development of the private sector and the well-being of its workforce in the new era. Deputy Mayor Xu Jun was also in attendance.

In 2023, Changzhou's private sector achieved an added value of 676.13 billion yuan, marking a 7.3 percent increase from the previous year. Its contribution to the city's GDP growth reached an impressive 71.3 percent, driving a 4.8 percentage point increase and providing crucial support for Changzhou's economic and social development.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that all members of the coordination mechanism must set clear objectives and focus on key tasks. This includes advancing innovative exploration to promote the "Dual Health" initiative and effectively implementing the "Changzhou Business Service Card" to support enterprises. The call to action underscored the importance of aligning with the guidelines of the CPC central, provincial, and municipal committees, enhancing the sense of responsibility and mission, and improving the quality and efficiency of united front work in the private sector.

The assembly reviewed and approved in principle the “2024 Work Highlights for Innovative Exploration in Promoting ‘Dual Health’ in Changzhou in the New Era (2024)". Representatives from Wujin and Xinbei districts as well as various municipal departments, including the Bureau of Commerce, the Emergency Management Bureau, the Education Bureau, and the Health Commission, shared their insights and experiences.
