Despite the rainy weather during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Changzhou experienced a significant surge in passenger transportation.
Throughout the holiday period, a total of 61,927 passengers were transported on highways in Changzhou, averaging 20,642 passengers per day. This marked an impressive 91.78 percent increase compared to the previous year. The city's metro lines played a vital role, carrying a total of 744,202 passengers, averaging 248,067 passengers per day. This showcased a substantial year-on-year growth of 93.84 percent.
The bus system also contributed to the bustling transportation scene, accommodating a total of 667,606 passengers during the holiday period. On average, this amounted to 222,535 passengers per day, indicating a noteworthy 43.92 percent increase from the previous year.
However, the taxi sector experienced a slight decline in passenger volume. Throughout the holiday, a total of 206,261 passengers utilized taxi services, averaging 68,753 passengers per day. This represented a decrease of 6.4 percent compared to the previous year.
Despite the challenges posed by the rainy weather, Changzhou's public transportation system demonstrated its resilience and successfully facilitated the movement of a significant number of passengers during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
