Recently, Liyang People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries held the 2019 China · Liyang New Year Reception, inviting foreigners in Liyang to visit Caoshan, appreciate folk customs and experience traditional Chinese culture. Di Lixin, chairman of Liyang People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the event and addressed the new year reception.

During the event, the participating foreigners tried out the traditional dragon dance and martial arts, and visited the Niumatang countryside. Raimundo from Cuba said in fluent Chinese that Liyang is a beautiful place and he will definitely introduce Liyang to his friends and family back home. Clemens from a Swiss-invested company said that although he has only been in Liyang for 15 months, he has fallen in love with this place and thinks of Liyang as his home.

The first council of Liyang Youziyin International Exchange Center was also held at the event. The center dedicated to providing better services for enterprises investing in Liyang and for foreign officials or business missions visiting Liyang.

Some members of the Liyang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese also participated in the event. The federation was established in 2015 and currently has 72 members.
