A press conference for the blueprint of Taihu Lake Road was held in Suzhou on July 13.
The 416.2 km-long road along Taihu lake will be jointly constructed by Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou cities of Jiangsu province, and Huzhou city of Zhejiang province.
This project will facilitate public transportation and logistics services in the area. It will also contribute to a future cluster for emerging industries like healthcare, leisure tourism, entertainment, and elderly care.
The Changzhou section of the road is 8.88 km long, running through the Xueyan town of Wujin district and the Taihu Bay Tourist Resort.
Based on the road construction, Changzhou plans to build a 30 km2-large lakefront landscape, which will serve to support rural revitalization through tourism.
