Recently, 48 UN officials from 28 countries, working at the headquarters in New York and the divisions in Geneva, Vienna and Bangkok, visited Changzhou.  Zhang Yunyun, vice mayor of Changzhou, met with the delegates.

Chinese is one of the six official languages of the UN. Since 2004, China has been supporting UN officials and diplomats to attend the three-week class for the Chinese language in Nanjing University through the help of Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban).

During their stay in Changzhou, the delegates learned about the history, culture and the economic progress of the city. They were full of praise for the natural scenery of Liyang and the cultural landscapes in Changzhou. He Yong, head of the Chinese program, stated that he wanted to display the scroll of Jintan paper cutting in the UN offices to let more people know Changzhou.

Du Jibin, director of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Yun Shuang, deputy director of the Office, attended the meeting and accompanied the guests.
