On December 16, Sheng Lei, acting mayor of Changzhou, received Edward Shapira, consul general of the Israeli Consulate in Shanghai. After the meeting, the two sides witnessed the virtual signing ceremony of four projects to locate in China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park (CICP). 

At the meeting, Sheng Lei pointed out that the city is keen on supporting CICP to introduce Israeli innovation enterprises and tech programs into the park, with one-stop services in registration procedures, sci-tech cooperation, and IPR protection. 

She looked forward to more cooperation between the two sides in exploring new vocational education models, improving the platforms for innovative programs, and building a sound ecosystem for industrial sectors. 

In this way, more Israeli programs, professionals, venture capital funds, and higher education institutes will come to Changzhou, bringing two-way cooperation to a new level, said Sheng.

She stated that CICP, with full support from the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government, will remain a pioneer in China-Israel innovation collaboration mechanism, model, and achievements. 

Edward Shapira, on his third visit to Changzhou, highly rated the city's commitment to innovation-driven development and the CICP's professional services. 

He stated that the Israeli Consulate in Shanghai will continue to support Changzhou to improve its business environment and introduce more Israeli programs to the city. 

At the signing ceremony held virtually, four institutes, namely Changzhou Senyi Venture Capital Center, Israel-China Chamber of Commerce, Shibolet & Co. Law Firm, and Rotenburg Integrated Systems, signed MOUs with the CICP. 

In particular, Senyi Venture Capital Center is a tripartite program among the CICP, Changzhou Watson Medical Appliance, and Trendlines Group. Having an investment of 20 million yuan in its first-step project, the center will invest in medical technologies and cultivate innovative medical programs.  

Moreover, the Israel-China Chamber of Commerce will set up its branch in the CICP, which will become a window for Israeli enterprises wishing to enter the Chinese market. 

During his stay in Changzhou, Shapira and his delegation also visited the Xitaihu Lake International Community and Israeli enterprises such as Avery Dennison, Taditel, Fluence, and Lycored.
