It is reported that the environmental restoration project of Zaojiang River, initiated in October 2013, will be completed by the end of April 2015. By then, the Zaojiang River will act as the junction of the north and south areas of Changzhou National High-tech District (CND), along which there will be a beautiful ‘landscape axis’ perfectly combining the slow traffic system and riverfront greenway.

According to Dai Weijun, deputy director of CND Greening Management Office, the environmental restoration project of Zaojiang River is divided into four sections from south to north respectively for ecological improvement, residence, eco-suburb demonstration, and riverside scenery, along which the Central Art Park and Sanjiangkou Park in planning, the Xinlong Ecological Garden in construction and the existing High-speed-rail Ecological Park will be stringed into a natural ‘pearl necklace.’
