This year Changzhou will carry out a series of major projects to improve the quality of urban life.

First, the pursuit of National Historical and Cultural City. The Historic Preservation District of Qingguo Lane will be improved on the principle of ‘repairing old architectures and make them look the same as they were,’ so as to ensure structural and fire safety of the premises and try the best to keep their original look.

Second, the construction of Changzhou CBD. The CBD of Changzhou is located to the south of Beitang River, the east of Xinyi Road, the north of Zhulin Road and the west of Hengtang River. The Hengtanghe Wetland Park will be constructed by the West Hengtanghe Road this year.

Third, the project of Changzhou Cultural Plaza. The construction of the Cultural Plaza including a library, a science museum, an art gallery and an underground space utilization center will be commenced on May 1. It is seated on the opposite side of the People's Square and is next to the Changzhou University.

Fourth, the increase of emergency shelters. Additional emergency shelters will be set in Hongmei Park and Qingfeng Park, the construction of which will be completed in the third quarter of this year.
