On April 16, the 2023 Basic Manufacturing Technology Innovation Conference took place in Changzhou. With a focus on industrial re-engineering, the event brought together academicians, experts and entrepreneurs to discuss the development of basic techniques for core components.
The conference was divided into five sub-forums, covering a range of topics such as basic parts and functional components, advanced sensors and instruments, clean processing technology, energy equipment, and smart factories. Participants were not only able to listen to keynote speeches but also had the opportunity to exchange views on how to advance smart manufacturing and enhance tech innovation.
As high-quality development is underpinned by a modern industry system, China aims to blaze a new trail in achieving industrialization, which has high-end, intelligent and environmentally-friendly features.
Currently, Changzhou has made the following efforts: The traditional sectors are being transformed and upgraded, while emerging sectors are in burgeoning development. The government is also investing in new industries with foresight.
As a manufacturing city, Changzhou boasts the most complete industrial categories and supporting sectors among prefecture-level cities. Its smart equipment manufacturing sector is listed as a national strategic emerging industry, and the CFRP is selected as a national advanced manufacturing industry. With over 60,000 industrial enterprises, nearly 3,700 high-tech enterprises, 200 plus hidden champions, and 92 publicly-listed companies, Changzhou is leading the charge in the manufacturing industry.
