A national-level list has been issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, recommending the second batch of blocks for tourism and leisure purposes.
Altogether 57 streets featuring history, culture and commerce were on the list, including the Qingguoxiang Historic Block in Changzhou.
Located in the heart of Changzhou’s old downtown area and right by the Grand Canal, Qingguoxiang is the city’s best preserved and most famous ancient lane from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
As part of Changzhou’s old downtown revitalization project, the historic block has become an iconic cultural landmark through renovation and conservation, attracting nearly 20 million visitors over the past four years.
