Recently, it was learned from the New Medicine Industry Development Conference that between January and May, the city’s 141 enterprises above designated size involved in the new medicine industry have achieved year-on-year growth of tax and profit of 18.5% and 26.4% respectively. Deputy Mayors Wang Chengbin and Zhang Yunyun attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

With many years’ effort, Changzhou’s new medicine Industry has been shaped into a certain scale with its own features and advantages. Up to now, Changzhou has a total of 45 pharmaceutical producers, supplying 857 kinds of medicines. There are 304 medical device manufacturers with over 1,300 registered certificates for medical devices. In the first half of the year, 16 key projects of the new medicine industrial chain have been carried out. 15 projects have already settled in the Life and Health Industry Park, with investment of over 15 billion yuan, five of which are eligible to be put into production. The West Taihu Lake International Medical Industry Park has introduced 12 health projects and three platforms.
