On December 27, it was learned from the Agriculture Commission of Changzhou that according to the initial calculation carried out by the Jiangsu Investigation Team of the State Bureau of Statistics, this year Changzhou’s rice yield reached 642 kg/mu, an increase of 1.3%, ranked first in the province for 11 consecutive yeas.

According to statistics, this year Changzhou has a total of 2,255,000 mu of grain acreage, with a total production of 1,137,000 tons. Among them, the rice planting covers 1,225,000 mu, with a yield of 642 kg/mu. The total rice production reached 786,000 tons. In 2013, the city’s rice and wheat yields both surpassed the past records. The yields of rice and wheat reached 642 kg and 349.8 kg respectively, increased by 8.3 kg and 11.7 kg respectively over the previous year.
