Starting July 1, Changzhou's public medical institutions have rolled out 43 new medical service items, enhancing the application of cutting-edge medical technologies and addressing patient needs. Additionally, the details and descriptions of 51 existing items, including functional magnetic resonance imaging, have been refined and updated.
These new services, recognized for their advanced technology and clinical necessity, encompass a range of procedures such as the pancreatic elastase-1 test, left atrial appendage closure, and dry pericardiocentesis.
During the trial period, prices for the new medical services are independently set by the medical institutions based on project costs. These prices are not covered by the basic medical insurance fund and are managed under Category C. Upon the completion of the trial period, the medical insurance department will evaluate the services' performance, costs, and impact on patient expenses to finalize the pricing and insurance coverage categories.
The Changzhou Health Security Bureau is guiding the public healthcare institutions in setting reasonable trial prices and is closely monitoring the implementation of these new services. This oversight aims to support the establishment of scientifically based pricing for these services in the future.
