In a recent update from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Changzhou has been commended for its contributions to ecological advancement with two standout cases within the province's environmental framework. These cases, which include "Ecological Empowerment and Industrial Transformation in Liyang" and "Exploring Ecological Value Transformation in Jintan District," have secured positions among the Top Ten Exemplary Cases of Achieving Value with Eco-friendly Products for the year 2023.
Liyang, exemplifying a commitment to "ecological priority and green development," has notably spearheaded the creation of the Liyang No. 1 Road and the Liyang Landscape Corridor. These green arteries not only showcase the natural beauty of Tianmu Lake and Changdang Lake but also seamlessly connect various scenic spots, tourist attractions, and rural retreats, drawing millions of visitors annually.
Meanwhile, Jintan's innovative endeavor, known as the "Integrated Restoration of Mountains, Waters, Forests, Fields, Lakes, and Grasslands," emerges as one of Jiangsu's flagship initiatives. Its successful execution, characterized by lush landscapes and pristine waterways, highlights the effectiveness of the "Jintan Plan" in bolstering ecological resilience across the Taihu Lake Basin. Furthermore, it serves as a cornerstone for promoting sustainable urban-rural integration within the dynamic Nanjing-Wuxi-Changzhou convergence zone.
