Changzhou's consumer market demonstrated stability and growth during this year's May Day holiday, showcasing a promising recovery trend.
According to data from the Changzhou Bureau of Commerce, a total of 48 major retail and dining establishments, along with 10 urban complexes, achieved combined sales totaling 553.22 million yuan. This represents an encouraging 8.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
In particular, the Lingjiatang Wholesale Market reported holiday sales of 457.88 million yuan, showing a notable growth of 5.11 percent from the previous year. This positive performance underscores the resilience and vitality of Changzhou's retail sector amid ongoing economic recovery efforts.
