The special event titled "A Path to Success: Changzhou's Collaboration with Renowned Universities for a Thriving Future of Innovation and Entrepreneurship" took place at Xiamen University on June 14. It was organized by Wujin district in Changzhou and marked the inaugural session of the "Changzhou's Collaboration with Renowned Universities" initiative as part of the city's New Energy Capital campaign. Qiao Junjie, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Wujin District Committee, graced the event with a speech.
Xiamen and Changzhou share a longstanding friendship. The anthem of Xiamen University, composed by Zhao Yuanren (Yuenren Chao), a distinguished figure from Changzhou and regarded as the father of Chinese linguistics, continues to inspire students at Xiamen University to strive for excellence. In recent years, Xiamen University and Changzhou have forged extensive collaborations in industry, academia, and research, covering various fields such as new materials, intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, and biopharmaceuticals. These collaborations have yielded remarkable results in nurturing talent and providing valuable social services through joint projects between the university and the local community.
During the event, Changzhou showcased its Dragon City Talents Program, and Li Changchun, a graduate of Xiamen University and director of Jiangsu Cherish Medical Devices Co., Ltd., shared his inspiring entrepreneurial journey. Prominent companies like Wanbang Digital Energy Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Chemsemi Co., Ltd. unveiled their innovative talent requirements, while eight officials from Xiamen University were appointed as "Talent Commissioners" for Changzhou.
Simultaneously, Xiamen University organized a recruitment fair, featuring more than 35 companies and institutions offering over 580 positions. With a focus on key industries such as new energy, new materials, intelligent manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals, the fair attracted over 800 students who enthusiastically applied for various opportunities. A total of 535 valid resumes were received, resulting in preliminary employment intentions with 286 individuals. Furthermore, over 20 companies conducted online recruitment activities, receiving more than 2,600 job applications.
