Jiangsu’s border ports handled 1,200 inbound and outbound flights and ferries, accommodating 97,000 passenger trips during the National Day holiday, according to the province's General Station of Immigration Inspection. This reflects year-on-year increases of 37.2% and 57.9%, respectively.
Over 6,300 foreign visitors passed through Jiangsu’s ports during the week-long holiday, marking a 44.1% rise compared to the previous year. The number of travelers from South Korea, the Philippines, and Japan saw particularly notable increases.
Jiangsu currently operates nine international airports. Airports in Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Nantong, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, and Yancheng support 42 international (regional) passenger routes and 10 cargo routes.
Visa-free policies and streamlined customs clearance procedures have contributed to the surge in cross-border travel. Notably, Nanjing Lukou International Airport, the largest border port in the province, recorded its 2 millionth entry-exit trip of 2024 on October 1. During the holiday, the airport processed 53,000 passenger trips, including over 4,000 foreign travelers, showing year-on-year increases of 53.5% and 29%, respectively.
