On May 24, Mayor Sheng Lei had a meeting with Thomas Oetterli, CEO of Rieter Group, marking an important milestone in the ongoing collaboration.

Mayor Sheng warmly welcomed Oetterli and his delegation and expressed her appreciation for Rieter's remarkable development in Changzhou over the years. She commended the city's stable and consistent economic growth and emphasized the goal of achieving a GDP of one trillion yuan this year, underscoring the importance of the thriving new energy sector in this pursuit. 

Sheng looked forward to increased cooperation with Rieter to promote smart manufacturing and facilitate digital transformation across the entire industry chain. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of fostering new market demands and driving forces within the industry. 

Oetterli, in turn, expressed his sincere appreciation for the favorable industrial ecosystem in Changzhou, which has played a pivotal role in supporting Rieter's growth in China. He highlighted the Changzhou facility as the corporation's major center for production, research, and development. 

Oetterli reiterated Rieter's commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation with Changzhou, particularly in areas such as technology innovation, talent cultivation, digital transformation, and energy-saving initiatives. He emphasized the company's dedication to high-quality, sustainable development in collaboration with the city.
