The list of 2023 Top 100 Cities in Advanced Manufacturing was recently unveiled, and all 13 cities with subordinate districts in Jiangsu province secured a spot on the prestigious list.
The report, titled "2023 Top 100 Cities in Advanced Manufacturing," was released by the CCID Consulting Advanced Manufacturing Research Center, operating under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The assessment of the top 100 cities in the advanced manufacturing industry is conducted across five dimensions: innovation capacity, integrated development, economic drive, brand quality, and green-intensive development. The cities are categorized into four stages: leaping period, expansion period, development period, and initial period. Noteworthy achievements include Suzhou securing the second position, Nanjing entering the top ten, and Wuxi, Changzhou, and Nantong ranking among the top 20.
Presently, Jiangsu province is concentrating on 16 advanced manufacturing clusters and 50 key industrial chains to accelerate the development of a modern industrial system. The Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of a Strong Manufacturing Sector in Jiangsu Province has been unveiled, featuring eight major actions such as building leading player clusters, reinforcing the foundation through innovation, and elevating the supply chain to a higher level. These initiatives aim to propel high-end, intelligent, and green development within the manufacturing industry. According to data from the first ten months of this year, the added value of industries above the designated size in Jiangsu increased by 7.4% year-on-year, showcasing a leading growth rate.
Moving forward, Jiangsu will guide its cities with subordinate districts to consider industrial clusters and chains critically. The emphasis will be on promoting the growth of leading and landmark industries, fostering a high-quality industrial development ecosystem, and setting the pace for advancing new industrialization.
