On the morning of January 23rd, the 4th Session of the 11th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of CPPCC was opened in Nanjing, lasting four days. More than 700 CPPCC members of various political parties and organizations and from all ethnic groups and sectors across the province participated in the meeting to discuss major issues concerning economic and social development of Jiangsu.

In the opening ceremony, the Provincial Party Secretary Luo Zhijun delivered an important speech.

Luo required the whole province to adapt to the new normal of economic development, adhere to development as the top priority, insist on maintaining stability in the general pace of work, and persist in reform and opening up, in order to make new achievements in building a “New Jiangsu” and have a good start in the period of the "13th Five-Year Plan.”

Zhang Lianzhen, Chairwoman of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of CPPCC, reported on the work of the standing committee.

Over the past five years, Jiangsu has remarkably improved its comprehensive strength. The GDP of the province exceeded 7 trillion RMB, and the per capita GDP reached 88,000 RMB.
