Recently, the China Greening Committee has decided to award the cities (districts), counties, companies and individuals that have made outstanding achievements in greening tasks. Changzhou is awarded the title of “National Model City for Greening,”the highest honor for urban greening achievements in China.

It is reported that the evaluation of National Greening Model Cities is held once every three years and is awarded by the China Greening Committee. In recent years, Changzhou has carried out extensive voluntary tree-planting activities, implemented key projects for landscaping, strengthened ecological restoration of wetlands, attached importance to the management of tree transplanting and rescued and protected ancient and precious trees. In the course of building a “Green Changzhou”with a beautiful living environment, the city has worked hard to expand the amount of green resources, winning various honors such as “National Garden City,” “National Forest City,” “National Eco-city,” “National Civilized City” and “China Habitat Environment Award.”

In addition, Xu Zuxing from the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Zhi Qiujuan from the Hongmei Park won the National Green Medals.
