From January to May, enterprises above designated size in Changzhou’s ten major industry chains achieved output value of 134.36 billion yuan, accounting for 30.1％ of the total output value of Changzhou’s industrial enterprises above designated size, increased by 0.8 percentage points over the same period last year.

According to the Practical Suggestions on Promoting the Progress of Ten Major Industry Chains and Accelerating the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries issued in October 2013, the ten major industry chains of Changzhou include rail transportation, automobile & parts, solar energy, carbon materials, general aviation, agricultural & engineering machinery, new medicine, new lighting source, smart grid, and intelligent digital control & robotics.

During the first five months of 2014, the ten industry chains witnessed an increase of 12.2％ in gross output value of enterprises above designated size, of which the output values of general aviation, carbon materials and solar energy increased by 48.3％, 37.5％ and 26.1％ respectively. The enterprises involved in the ten industry chains have been playing a significant role in sustaining government revenue, contributing 970 million yuan of public finance revenue, an increase of 11.4％.
