On March 28th, Patrick Kaltenbach, CEO of Mettler-Toledo International Inc., along with his delegation, including Richard Wong, Head of Asia/Pacific Market Organizations, and Tang Liang, Head of China PO, visited Changzhou.
Mayor Sheng Lei gave them a warm welcome and briefed them on the city's rich history and culture, as well as its remarkable economic and social progress in recent years.
During the meeting, Mayor Sheng highlighted Mettler-Toledo's pivotal role as a leading global manufacturer of precision instruments and services used in laboratories and manufacturing, and how the corporation has contributed to Changzhou's high-quality development over the years. She also mentioned Changzhou's continuous efforts to enhance the city's pro-business and innovation-driven environment, hoping to foster more cooperation with Mettler-Toledo in the future.
Kaltenbach expressed his appreciation for Changzhou's ongoing support of Mettler-Toledo's development in the city. He noted Changzhou's many advantages, such as its strategic geographic location, excellent business environment, efficient government services, and ample growth space. He also expressed Mettler-Toledo's commitment to further strengthening its Changzhou facilities' research, development, and innovation capacity.
Since its establishment in 1987, Mettler-Toledo has been among the first batch of foreign-invested companies to launch its facility in Changzhou, marking a long-standing relationship with the city. Over the years, the corporation has invested approximately 100 million US dollars in Changzhou, a testament to its commitment to the city's development. In 2022, Mettler-Toledo's subsidiaries in Changzhou achieved an outstanding performance, with impressive sales of 3.86 billion yuan and 1.499 billion yuan in exports.
