On April 23, a six-member delegation headed by Mr.Sunil Porwal, principal secretary of Textile Department, Government of Maharashtra, visited Changzhou. Mr. Du Jibin, director of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office (FAO), met with the guests. The two sides had discussion on how to broaden the channels of communication, enhance mutual understanding and further promote related matters such as in-depth exchanges and cooperation in various fields of trade, culture, etc.

Porwal’s visit this time is mainly for the purpose of learning about Changzhou’s textile industry to seek opportunities of trade cooperation and to explore the possibility of investing in Changzhou. During their stay in Changzhou, the delegates visited Changzhou Hengji Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Yueye Corduroy Co., Ltd. Mr. Sima Shuanglong, deputy director of Changzhou FAO accompanied the delegation.
